Installing WordPress on web hosting
WordPress is the world's most popular content management system, and installing it on Nordweb's web hosting is easy through the Enhance control panel.
Automatic installation (recommended)
- Log in at panel.nordweb.fi
- Navigate to Websites → select your site
- Click WordPress → Install
- Choose the installation language and create an administrator account
- WordPress installs automatically in a few seconds
Manual installation
If you want to install WordPress manually:
- Download WordPress from fi.wordpress.org
- Create a database in the control panel (Websites → Databases)
- Upload the WordPress files to the
public_html folder via FTP or the file manager
- Open the domain in a browser and follow the installation wizard
- Enter the database details (you will find them in the control panel)
After installation
- Change the default password to a strong password
- Install a security plugin (e.g. Wordfence)
- Update WordPress, themes and plugins regularly
- Enable backups
